With the retirement of Representative Rush Holt, Congress loses a strong-willed fighter, a leader who has continually pushed the boundaries of innovation. I am proud to call Rush Holt, my Congressman, a true representative of the 12th Congressional District of New Jersey and am honored that my career in public service has intersected with his.
Representative Holt’s unique background gave him theability to take on issues with a technical approach, daring to push further to help those in need, and always advancing and developing the industries of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. But more importantly, our Rocket Scientist in Congress brought compassion for and dedication for those he served in Washington D.C. New Jersey is losing a key voice in our Congressional Delegation. Holt’s retirement will leave a void in the 12th Congressional District that can only be filled by an individual who exhibits the same level of commitment to problem solving that the Representative exhibited each day of his career.
I wish Representative Holt the very best as he embarks on a new challenge.
With every ending presents a new opportunity and it is with that in mind that I am formally announcing my candidacy for the United States House of Representatives in the 12th Congressional district.
Throughout my tenure in elected office, I have always strived to best represent all interests of my constituency. Similar to Representative Holt, I look forward to bringing my STEM expertise to Washington. I believe that my professional experience over the years has served me well in my efforts to look at the problems facing my constituents and develop real solutions with lasting effects. During my time in office, I have strived to combine a hands-on local approach with a global familiarity and scientific background in efforts to best represent those I have had the honor of representing, first at the local level and now in Trenton. I look forward to bringing this unique combination to the House of Representatives.
Over the coming days, weeks and months I look forward to discussing the issues that are most important to the residents of the 12th District. I am excited for the journey ahead and look forward to bringing your voices to Washington.
